About

RehabCalcs was founded in 2008 to provide customized software products for the rehabilitation specialist who performs Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) and return-to-work treatment services. Assessment calculators automatically calculate norms and produce professional reports in Microsoft Excel. The exercise prescription tools, including the Exercise Modules, Xcalc, and Exercise Templates, work in concert to produce complete exercise routines with images, instructions, progressions, and schedules.

Software benefits:

  • Streamline work flow.
  • Improve efficiency.
  • Save time.
  • Reduce computational human error.
  • Improve communication with clients and case managers using clear and professional reports.

Assessment Calculators

Assessment calculators tabulate outcomes based on standard assessment protocols and normative data. Summary reports with outcome measures, raw data, and charts are produced in Microsoft Excel. Calculators can be purchased individually or as part of the FCE Kit.

Exercise Modules

Exercise Modules are collections of high resolution 3D images of various exercises, functional activities and body postures. Images, along with their associated titles and instructions, are imported into an exercise template to create routines.

Exercise Prescription

Our flagship product, Xcalc, is an advanced exercise prescription tool that allows you to add progressions to your exercises based on user-defined parameters. Use with the Exercise Modules and Exercise Templates to create complete, customized, evidence-based routines.

**Note: The RehabCalcs Assessment and Exercise Prescription Software are a collection of Microsoft Excel Addins.**

I’m a graduate of the Occupational Therapy program at the University of British Columbia (2004) and creator of RehabCalcs. I’ve received extensive training in workplace wellness, injury prevention, and pain management, and I’m a trained Functional Capacity Evaluator through Roy Matheson and Associates. My primary expertise is in the area of office ergonomics, adaptive technology for people with disabilities, vocational programming, assessment of functional capacity, and prescription of work-related treatment goals. Over the years I’ve lectured numerous times at corporations and schools about ergonomics, injury prevention, and workplace wellness. The RehabCalcs website and software products are my attempt to combine my OT skills and my passion for computer programming and 3D animation in the hope of producing tools that therapists may find helpful to their practice. I welcome your comments and feedback at any time.
